More than 45,000 fans witness a spectacular show at the Montreal Supermotocross
More than 45,000 cheering fans witnessed Suzuki rider Jason Thomas of Melrose, Florida spectacular runaway MX1 win over Canadian Colton Facciotti at the Montreal Supermotocross, presented by Coors Light and Parts Canada on Saturday night at the Olympic Stadium. Third place on the podium went to another Canadian, Dusty Klatt from Campbel River, BC. Simon Homans was the best Quebec performer of the grand finale with a 10th place finish.

Bernie Ecclestone, who was recently divorced from his wife Slavica, was in the company of a new female companion at the Suzuka circuit this weekend.
To take victory in his Citroen C4 WRC and ensure his fight for a sixth World Rally Championship title will go to the final, decisive round in Great Britain later this month. 
Jorge Lorenzo has slashed team-mate Valentino Rossi’s championship lead from 30 to 18 points with his fourth victory of the season in Sunday’s Portuguese Grand Prix at Estoril. The result meant that Yamaha lifted the 2009 MotoGP Constructors’ title, and Fiat Yamaha the Teams’ title, with three rounds still to go. 
Title contenders Ben Spies (Yamaha World Superbike) and Noriyuki Haga (Ducati Xerox) scored a win apiece in the penultimate round of the Hannspree FIM Superbike World Superbike in front of a record 81,000 spectators at Magny-Cours but it is the Japanese rider who now has the advantage in the points table. 
After Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel won dominantly in Japan and the two Brawns managed just three points between them. As it stands, Brawn GP missed out on wrapping up the title on Sunday by a mere half-point, but it has emerged that Williams’ Nico Rosberg will be investigated by the stewards for driving too fast in safety car conditions.

After losing out on pole by 0.260sec to team-mate and title rival Jorge Lorenzo. Third in both free practice sessions, Rossi and his side of the Fiat Yamaha garage had made tangible improvements to his M1 by the close of qualifying – although the Italian needs more traction for the race, which he will start with a 30 point advantage over Lorenzo.
