Triple victory for Mitsubishi
Antoine L’Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu won Rallye Défi last weekend, 4th round of the Canadian Rally Championship. The North American champions now take the lead in the season standings with two events remaining.

For the Fall Classic September 25th to 27th
The 944-cup series will be featured at the upcoming Fall Classic at the famous Mont-Tremblant Circuit. Hardent, a local engineering firm, is proud to sponsor this historical event, the first time that a Porsche-only series will be racing at Le Circuit since the Rothmans Porsche Turbo Cup series almost 20 years ago. There will be a race on Saturday and Sunday.

The return to the F1 calendar of the Canadian grand prix in 2010 is still not assured, politicians in Montreal insist. On Monday, the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve’s outgoing local promoter Normand Legault said in a media statement that a “commercial dispute” with Bernie Ecclestone is now over and that an “announcement is forthcoming” about Canada’s return to F1.

BMW wishes Qadbak and the Sauber Team every success for the 2010
BMW AG, based in Munich, Germany, is pleased to announce today that Qadbak Investments Ltd, a Swiss-based foundation which represents the interests of certain Middle East and European based families, has agreed to purchase the BMW Sauber F1 Team, based in Hinwil, Switzerland. The contract was signed today (Tuesday).

Williams was Cosworth’s last F1 partner in 2006
Cosworth is an “option” for the Williams team in 2010, co-owner Patrick Head has been quoted as saying. With Toyota’s future on the grid in doubt and its V8 thought to be the least powerful in formula one, the independent British team Williams is openly on the lookout for a new engine supplier.

Diario AS said Renault has offered to oust Briatore in favour of Frederic Vasseur
The French carmaker Renault has reportedly offered to replace the boss of its formula one team, Flavio Briatore. The offer, made to the sport’s governing body ahead of the 21 September hearing into the ‘crash-gate’ affair, was interpreted by the Spanish newspaper AS as being a move to appease the World Motor Sport Council.
