A solitary point was all that the streets of Trois-Rivieres gifted Toronto’s James Hinchcliffe as an early race incident saw the title contender classified 20th after failing to finish his first race of the season in Round 8 of the 2008 Cooper Tires Presents The Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda.
For the 39th time the Grand Prix Trois Rivière (GP3R) took place on the temporary street circuit in the city of Trois Rivière (Quebec, Canada). The circuit is situated next to the Hippodrome near the city centre and has a length of 2.448 km. 
Trois-Rivières is the “National Poetry Capital of Quebec,” and Andersen Racing’s Peter Dempsey was poetry in motion Sunday as he led every lap to win Round 7 of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear on that town’s 1.506-mile, 10-turn street course.
