Bayliss takes 5th pole of the season after a “wet” superpole at Brands
Just before the start of Superpole, rain began to fall on the Brands Hatch circuit and so the organisers decided that the 16-rider shoot-out would be a “Wet Superpole”, giving the riders 50 minutes and a maximum of twelve laps to set their fastest lap times. 
Jacques Villeneuve knows Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal well. After all, it’s named after his father. He just has to adjust to racing on it in a stock car. Aug 02

The Ducati Xerox team fails to demonstrate it’s true potential
Qualifying – Brands Hatch
Although conditions remained dry for the first World Superbike qualifying session of the weekend, the Ducati Xerox Team had a few difficulties during the day which left the two factory riders Michel Fabrizio and Troy Bayliss in eleventh and twelfth position respectively at the close of play Friday.
When the Parts Canada Superbike Championship made its traditional stop at Atlantic Motorsport Park last August, he surprised many observers by winning the Amateur 600 Sport Bike event in convincing fashion. 
No-one at BMW-Sauber will talk about the team’s driver lineup for 2009, but Nick Heidfeld in Hungary said he is feeling “relaxed” about his future. 
Nico Rosberg clarified on Friday that he will stay with the Williams team in 2009.
