Maxime Martin leaves BMW

Au revoir Maxime Martin

After four years and 64 races in DTM, the Belgian retires from the series for good. In these years, Martin secured two seventh and two eighth positions in the championship, thus proving to be a prime example when it came to consistency.

His highlights were 10 podiums, three poles and – first of all – three race wins. Martin won the race on the Norisring

In 2014, in his only fifth DTM race meeting, the 31-year old made history. At Moscow, Martin secured the pole to then take the chequered flag as first Belgian race winner in the history of the popular touring-car series. A feat even his compatriot Eric van de Poele failed to achieve on his way to winning the DTM 1987 title. In 2015 Martin celebrated another win at the Nürburgring but in 2016, his best results were the third places he secured at the Norisring and Hockenheim.
