Drivers praise teams for keeping them on track in the WTCCLeading FIA World Touring Car Championship drivers were full of praise for their teams for working through the night to ready their cars for the Main Race at WTCC JVCKENWOOD Race of Macau.

The cars of Tom Chilton, Esteban Guerrieri, Rob Huff and Norbert Michelisz were badly damaged when the quartet collided in the Opening Race on Saturday after Michelisz crashed and blocked the track, leaving the chasing trio with nowhere to go.

New regulations for the WTCC’s Macau return effectively allowed for an unlimited OSCARO Repair Time period, which enabled the teams to repair their cars for Sunday’s finale. Previously, squads had just 15 minutes.
