Brad Keselowski wins after escaping three red-flag wrecks in race’s final stage

Keselowski emerges from wreck-filled Talladega with NASCAR Playoffs win

Brad Keselowski emerged from a wreck-filled Alabama 500 to capture the checkered flag at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday with a last-lap pass that punched his ticket to the NASCAR Playoffs Round of 8.

The win was Keselowski’s fifth at the restrictor-plate track, his third there since 2012.

Keselowski beat Ryan Newman to the finish line as the No. 31 Richard Childress Racing driver finished second. Trevor Bayne, Joey Logano and Aric Almirola rounded out the top five.

In his final race at Talladega as a full-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished seventh.
