René Rast is rocking DTM. Prior the race meeting at Zandvoort, the rookie is second in the championship standings – just one point behind fellow-Audi driver Mattias Ekström. Last year at the Dutch North Sea coast, the German made his sudden DTM race debut as Audi’s test and reserve driver. 12 months later and with the experience of just 13 races under his belt, 30 year old DTM rookie Rast already has got two race wins, three pole positions and two fastest race laps on his tally and holds a very promising position in the fight for the title!

Lucas Auer nearly made it from zero to hero, this year. Following his learning year, 2015, with a sixth place as best result, he clearly improved in his second season. Auer celebrated his first race win at the Lausitzring and also delivered in fine style at the Nürburgring to finish second. But in 2017, he virtually rocketed away. The Austrian won a race at the Hockenheimring and one at the Lausitzring and currently holds third position in the championship. With his snappy hit-or-miss approach the 22-year old thrills the fans – and does so not only in the cockpit. For his great achievements in the 2017 season so far the Mercedes-AMD driver was rewarded with Formula One tests for Team Force India.
