Ganassi Racing shakes down new Ford GT at Daytona

CGR tested side-by-side with Multimatic Motorsports

Only hours after the champions’ watches were handed out at the TUDOR Night of Champions, bringing down the curtain on the 2015 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGR) brought its new Ford GT to Daytona International Speedway for the first time to continue testing for the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The team is preparing for a two-car assault on the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class beginning with the Rolex 24 At Daytona on January 30-31 – 50 years after the American manufacturer took the sports car world by storm with its revolutionary Ford GT40.
CGR tested side-by-side with Multimatic Motorsports, continuing a series of work with the new car that began shortly after its introduction at the 2015 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Multimatic will run a two-car effort with the Ford GT in the 2016 World Endurance Championship. It was the first time two Ford GT race cars were on track together.
