Promoters of the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix
The Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix Promoter has signed a contract with the consultancy company of Richard Cregan, Rasgaira, one of the most experienced managers in Formula 1.
Cregan has overseen the Yas Marina Circuit for the past five years and with it the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Under his guidance the Abu Dhabi round of the Formula One World Championship has become one of the most exciting Grand Prix. Cregan and his team have committed to a three year contract and have already begun work on the ground.

Biography of Richard Cregan
Richard Cregan was born 1960, Kildare, Ireland. In 1976 Richard went to the Bolton Street College of Technology. During his two years at college he covered all aspects of aircraft technology including aerodynamics and power-plant engineering and joined Aer Lingus as an aircraft technician.
As a motorsport fan he was involved in Irish motorsport and used the possibility to further his involvement in international motorsport. Richard started working for Toyota Team Europe in 1985, rising from a mechanic to the General Manager of Toyota Motorsport and Team Manager for F1. During his 24-year career at Toyota the team won seven World Rally Titles, finished second at the Le Mans 24 hour race and had multiple successes in F1.
His strong background in engineering, business strategy, and applied finance made him the ideal candidate for the role of the head of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. In 2008 he was offered a position of General Manager and in 2009 became CEO of Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management, a company, responsible for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the development of motorsport in the UAE. Richard was tasked with the completion of the circuit, development of a team and the delivery of the Grand Prix. Since 2009 Cregan’s team have delivered five sell-out GP’s at Yas Marina Circuit and over 400 hundred additional events to date including world forums, conferences, and major automobile events. The first Abu Dhabi Grand Prix achieved the FIA award of Best GP 2009. Yas Marina Circuit continues to grow and expand on its global reputation as one of the “best” racing tracks in the world.

He is married to Patricia and has three children.
About Formula Sochi
On October 14, 2010, with the support of the Russian Government, in the presence of Vladimir Putin in Sochi the agreement to host the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix from 2014 until 2020 was signed between OJSC Center “Omega and the Formula One group of companies.
The construction of the Formula 1 circuit upon the project and designer supervision of the company Tilke Gmbh & Co. KG keeps moving forward. The head of the Formula One group of companies Bernie Ecclestone, the four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, the former driver David Coulthard, the first Russian Formula 1 driver Vitaly Petrov, Racing director and the FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting visited the racing track being built in the Olympic Park of Sochi. They expressed a high opinion of the autodrome.
The Formula Sochi team is actively engaged in the promotion and organization of the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix which will be held on the 12th of October 2014 at the Olympic Park in Sochi. In particular, in early December 2013 the contract to host the GP2 and GP3 support races for the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix was signed. The Formula Sochi plans to use the circuit for sporting, commercial and private events all year-round.
