Swedish racer gets back to GTSprint aboard an Audi R8 LMS racecar
The Audi camp will welcome Johan Kristoffersson who will be at his comeback in the SWR-promoted championship. The Swede will share the MTM Audi R8 LMS with young German Thomas Schöffler, who’s currently leading the overall charts with an 8-point advantage over Porsche’s Glauco Solieri.
Founded by Roland Mayer in 1990, the Wettstetten-based Team Audi MTM has a long-standing relationship with the manufacturer and also became a key player in the car tuning industry. The German company is relying on Schöffler in their fight for the title, while they also employed other high-caliber drivers like Laurens Vanthoor, Filipe Albuquerque, Oliver Jarvis and now Kristoffersson. His rivals will include the Corvette Z06 R of Roberto Del Castello (RC Motorsport) and the Ferrari 458 Italia of Ukrainian Andrii Kruglyk (Team Ukraine) as they are still in contention for the championship.
“I can’t wait to be back to the SUPERSTARS WORLD. – said Johan Kristoffersson – Thomas is leading the championship and I will do everything I can to increase his advantage before Vallelunga. The R8 is a really fun and quick car to drive, and needs to be pushed to its limit! I expect plenty of excitement on-track !”.
