For the last road circuit event of the NCATS season
Thanks to the support of his partners Manac and Group Bellemare, Jean-François Dumoulin will reunite with his brother Louis-Philippe on the track for the last road circuit event of the season in NASCAR Canadian Tire series on September 1st at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Bowmanville, Ontario.
On the Trois-Rivieres Grand Prix track on August 11th , Jean-François Dumoulin has demonstrated his talent once again by positioning the #04 Manac/Bellemare Dodge (2008 chassis) in the top-3 for many laps. Since then, the mechanical team has been hard at work repairing the bodywork, and the Dumoulin Competition driver is confident he will be back on track with a car as competitive as it was in Trois-Rivieres.
“It’s a really fast track, and I was always competitive there in the different series with different teams. It’s also one of the most important fast road circuits in Canada along with the one in Mont-Tremblant. We know that the #04 Manac/Bellemare car will be competitive on that circuit and it will be very pleasant”, mentions Jean-François Dumoulin.
It’s a track that the Dumoulin brothers know well, having triumphed on it in many different series and taught as professional driving instructors on it (Fiorano Racing and others). Notably, since three years, Jean-François Dumoulin accompanies the successful race team Speed Merchants in optimizing their results in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge (Canada and United States). On top of his participation in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series in 2009, the Quebecer has six podiums on this track, including three in first place in 1997 (Formula Ford), 2000 (Motorola Cup), and 2003 (Grand-Am Cup).
The qualifying session of the “Clarington 200 presented by Pinty’s” (125.4 miles – 51 laps) will occur on Saturday, August 31st at 4:00 p.m. (practice sessions at 10:40/11:45 a.m. & 1:10/1:55 p.m.) and the race will start at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 1st.
