Team Canada Scholarship announces First Selection

Will represent Canada at the 2013 Formula Ford Festival this coming October

Team Canada logo 2The Team Canada Scholarship announces Scott Hargrove as the first driver to be selected for the 2013 edition of the 3rd year program.

He will represent Canada at the 2013 Formula Ford Festival this coming October at the Brands Hatch circuit in England. Scott is currently leading the points past the half way mark in the highly competitive USF2000 Championship. The Surrey , BC native is in his first full season of USF2000 competition and wasting little time making his mark. He also has participated in both major Canadian F1600 Championships, with poles, podiums, fastest laps, a win and lap record. The 18 year old will be partnered by a second Team Canada Scholarship driver to be named shortly.

“Once again it has been a difficult decision to select just one from the talented pool of drivers we had nominated from the USF2000 series. The interviews were all very good and any one of the young finalists would have been worthy. In the end Scott’s performance on track as well as his off track work and presence really impressed us. We were fortunate enough this season to attend 3 Indycar events and see firsthand the hard work each of the drivers do. It also gave us an opportunity to watch some young drivers who will be contenders next season for the Team Canada Scholarship.” Comments Team Canada founder Brian Graham.

The Scholarship exists completely on support from Team Canada Scholarship sponsors and donations to the program.
