Team Canada second 4 finalist
The four drivers will be vying for the a spot with Team Canada as the Scholarship enters its 3rd year. Competing in the category of F1600, specifically, the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship in Ontario and the Formula Tour 1600 Series of Quebec, these young drivers are some of Canada’s future stars.
F1600 has a long history for training not only Canada’s biggest names in racing but countless other countries as well. Current Indycar stars James Hinchcliffe and Alex Tagliani both spent time in F1600 along with ALMS frontrunner Kyle Marcelli. The list goes on and includes the biggest names in Canadian racing.
The four drivers selected as finalists are Olivier Bedard, Thomas McGregor, Zacharie Robichon, and Craig Willis. Three of the young hopefuls are currently leading their respective championships (Willis leading the B division in Ontario). Two of the drivers are in their rookie season and all have been very impressive to the mid point of the season. All four will be competing at the end of the month in the two respective series and will be sitting down with Team Canada for an interview.
“This is a very strong group of drivers as usual out of F1600. Like our two previous years we believe any one of them would represent us well this coming October at Brands Hatch. It is always a difficult decision to make and look forward to seeing how the season progress’s for all of them. “ comments Team Canada founder Brian Graham.
