Jiffy Lube 100 presented by Snap-on – Circuit ICAR de Mirabel
Alex Guénette will be racing in front of his home crowd this coming weekend as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series comes to ICAR for the second race on a road course of the season, the Jiffy Lube 100 presented by Snap-on.
Montreal, July 3, 2013 – The rookie driver has shown great speed and promise so far this season and is looking to put on a great show in front of his fans. Mechanical problems have prevented the 17-year old from achieving the results he is looking for in the first three races of the season, but despite this bad luck, Alex has impressed everyone with his speed and consistency when running with the leaders. He is certainly looking for a change in his luck on this second road race this season, and the first one in Quebec.
Alex is primed for this race. “I can’t wait to get into my road-race car after two tough outings on oval tracks. The guys at Jacombs Racing know how to set up a car for this track, and my No 39 Motos Illimitées/DLGL Dodge will certainly be a potential winner. I know we have the speed – we just need a little better luck!”
The team ran a very successful test at ICAR recently, justifying the confidence shown by Alex. Added to that, the “Home Track” factor comes into play. According to Alex, “Spending the weekend with the extended family and friends is fun, but I have to wipe the slate clean when I get into the car. All that is left in the back of my mind is a little extra motivation to do everything perfectly when everyone I know is watching.”
Practice and qualifying for the Jiffy Lube 100 presented by Snap-on will take place on Saturday, July 7, with the race start scheduled for Sunday, July 7, at 1.30pm.
