Experience the rush of touring car racing!

CTCC logoThe Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) presented by Continental Tire is proud to participate at the Jiffy Lube 100 that will be held at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel (QC) on July 6th and 7th.

During the event, Rounds 5 & 6 will be fought and competitors will have to show their strengths as this race track is known to be very fast and technical.

Competitors will get on the track Saturday morning for a practice session and again for qualifying in the early afternoon, Round 5 will be contested later that day at 5:10 pm. On Sunday morning the schedule is very tight as the drivers will be on track around 9:30 am for a warm-up session in order to get ready for Round 6, scheduled for 11:30 am.

With the two first events behind them, drivers will be highly competitive but mindful of not losing their position in the Point Standings. In Super Class, ahead by 87 points, Montreal driver Benjamin Distaulo (Lombardi Honda Racing) has a very comfortable lead ahead of Barrie driver Scott Nicol (Velocity Motorsports Club) and Amhurstberg driver Josh Fantin (Amico Racing).

In Touring Class, the fight for the championship started at the first round’s green flag and has resulted in a tie going into this event between Tottenham driver Damon Sharpe (Blanchet Motorsports) and Bécancour driver Jocelyn Hébert (89 Racing Team). Roxton Pond driver Michel Sallenbach (Team Octane) is in third and will be looking to take advantage of a mistake from either one of these opponents if he wants to take the lead in the standings. Behind him, Markam driver Tom Kwok (M&S Racing) and Lorraine driver Eric Lacouture (Team Octane) are not too far away and could get even closer after this event.

For Rounds 5 and 6, no B-Spec Class competition is scheduled for this event.

CTCC’s last race event was challenging due to the changing weather conditions, this weekend, drivers hope for sun and are ready to attack the track and fight for first place.

About CTCC

The Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) presented by Continental Tire is the only truly Canadian professional road racing series and showcases race cars based on their stock street version in three different categories (Classes). The entry-level B-Spec Class is the category for sub-compact cars with stock engines and strictly controlled suspension modifications; Touring Class features cars with minimal engine modifications, while Super Class machines have powerful and heavily modified engines and advanced aerodynamics. All three classes compete at the same time on the track and challenge for supremacy in their class.
