Andrew Ranger looking for a win for the La Cité de Mirabel Inc. Team in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series

Ranger teams up with Ray Courtemanche Jr.at Circuit ICAR this weekend

2013-06-27_0013Drivers Andrew Ranger and Ray Courtemanche Jr. will join the La Cité de Mirabel Inc. team this coming weekend at the Circuit Mirabel, just North of Montreal.

This means a return to home base for both drivers, with family and friends in attendance for this first Quebec visit by the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCaTS) this season. Both Quebec drivers will take part this coming Sunday in the JiffyLube 100 Presented By Snap-On.

This will also mark Andrew Ranger’s first NCaTS race this season. He comes to ICAR as a two-time Series Champion (2007 and 2009), and has but one goal in mind: to repeat his win from 2012 at this same event. The Roxton Pond (QC) racer will be driving the No 27 La Cité de Mirabel Inc. Dodge and has high expectations for the Sunday race: “I always look forward to racing in Quebec, especially when I can spend the weekend amongst friends and family. I will also do what I can to help with Ray’s car setup and maybe slip him a few driving tricks…”

This race will be Ray Jr’s second on a road course this season. In the 2013 NCaTS season opener at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Ray Jr. drove to a well-earned 12th place at the finish, having driven up to 8th in the race before being pushed off the track late in the race. “Welcome to NASCAR…”

Ray Jr. loves the ICAR track. “We have done our homework and have what it takes to do well on the twisty former airport circuit. Our recent testing here has gone well. I can’t wait to put on a show for friends and family!” Ray Jr. will be aboard his usual Jacombs Racing-prepared No 29 Dodge.

The team effort will be supported by La Cité de Mirabel Inc, a major real-estate project situated a short distance from ICAR and accessible via Exit 28 of Autoroute 15. Daniel Proulx, one of the project’s promoters, believes in the benefits of its association with the racing team. “We could not miss this opportunity to support Andrew Ranger and Ray Jr. for this event. We become associated to a Champion, one who comes to the track as an odds-on crowd favorite, in a car displaying La Cité de Mirabel Inc. colours. We cannot ask for a better commercial impact from our investment.

Andrew and Ray Jr. also invite all fans to TRIOOMPH Day, on Wednesday July 3, at ICAR. Professional drivers in attendance will share their enthusiasm and on-track thrills with young students and with contributors to the TRIOOMPH Program, which aims at keeping kids in school.

NCaTS practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday July 6, and the JiffyLube100 Presented By Snap-On will go green at 1.30pm on Sunday. You are all invited to come and watch the La Cité de Mirabel Inc. team perform.
