Ste-Rose Honda confident going into rounds 3 and 4 at Montreal

Karl and Nick Wittmer feel ready to compete

2013-05-04_1199Ste-Rose Honda racing team is ready to compete at the Montreal Grand Prix Formula One event this weekend at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

It will be rounds three and four in the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) and drivers Karl and Nick Wittmer feel ready to compete.

Karl will be driving his B-Spec class leading Honda Fit for the second time at Montreal. In his inaugural races at Montreal in 2012, he stood on the top podium on both occasions and hopes to repeat this year, although the competition will be tough. “Standing on the top step of the podium in Montreal gives me a feeling like nowhere else. It’s simply amazing to think of standing on the same podium as Formula drivers”. Said Karl preparing for this weekend’s event.

Nick is prepared to battle with the front running competitors. The first weekend at Mosport saw development issues which kept the car out of both races. “The transmission issue has been repaired and we are confident it has been resolved for good. We have worked very hard on suspension and air intake enhancements during the past two weeks. The circuit Gilles Villeneuve is also more technical than Mosport, so all these ingredients should help us move our Honda Accord up the leader board this weekend.” Said Nick before the event. Nick is predicting a top 10 in both qualifying and both races.

Team owner, Patrik Wittmer, is impressed with the Accord’s capabilities this early in the season. “We must remember the new Accord is in development, but I am confident with the changes made to the car over the past two weeks we will be more competitive. I am confident enough to predict Nick can make a top 8 in both qualifying and in the races this weekend. Karl will continue to have tough competition in Montreal, but I am confident in his ability, combined with the capabilities and reliability of our Honda Fit, that he will take one of the top podium spots and hopefully come out of Montreal with an increased championship lead”. Said Patrik as he prepared for the big weekend.

Practice and qualifying will be on Friday followed by a race on Saturday afternoon and another race Sunday morning.
