Narain Karthikeyan joins Super Nova International Auto GP assault
Super Nova is delighted to announce that it has found an agreement for Indian star Narain Karthikeyan to drive car number one for the balance of the Auto GP season, starting with this weekend’s Silverstone round.
Narain, supported by TATA, brings with him a wealth of single-seater experience including two stints in Formula One with Jordan and more recently HRT. He was also the lead driver for the Super Nova run Indian entry in A1GP and enjoys a relationship with team boss David Sears dating back to the beginning of his racing career in the Formula Asia championship, which used Argo cars built in the current Super Nova factory.
After a difficult first few rounds the tie-up promises to give Narain the best opportunity to fight at the sharp end of the field and target race wins from the outset. He will join Budapest winner Vittorio Ghirelli and Francesco Dracone in a three car entry.
Narain Karthikeyan: I am pleased to have found this opportunity to compete with Super Nova in Auto GP. I have known the team for a long time and they have been one of the most successful teams in single seaters over the years, so I am confident that we can hit the ground running this weekend.
David Sears: It’s a pleasure to welcome Narain back into the Super Nova family. Having watched him race from a very early age we know exactly what he is capable of and I am sure that together we can enjoy much success in the Auto GP Series.
