From her 2011 Superstars win at Monza, the young Superstars sensation keeps her career on a rise
In addition to being the fastest woman of the 2011 Superstars championship, and that included a top-10 position in standings and a sensational win at Monza, Michela Cerruti has been enjoying good success lately.
Her 2012 season proved quite positive at national and international level, as the Milan-based 25-year-old moved from the 500-horsepower machinery of SUPERSTARS to Grand Touring competition, lining-up for Roal Motorsports, the Italian manufacturer-support squad of BMW. For her last outing of the season though, she was back to her Mercedes C63 AMG as she lined-up for Team Romeo Ferraris in the prestigious 500-mile race of Zhuhai, China, alongside Valentina Albanese.
Despite some torrid weather conditions, the all-female duo fought their way up during the three hours of action split in 45-minute stints. They eventually ended up in second, in an extremely positive outcome for them as Michela and Valentina came close to what could have been an outstanding win. In addition to the results scored on-track, Michela, who moved her first steps in professional racing in SUPERSTARS, enjoyed more attention as she was ranked as the third best woman racer of the year by British portal BadgerGP.
As happened with 2012 SUPERSTARS champion Johan Kristoffersson, SWR (SUPERSTARS WORLD OF RACING) confirmed to be both a great destination as well as a stepping stone in a driver’s career.
