“It is always interesting when you have new drivers in the team” – Paul Jackson
Norwegian driver Pal Varhaug already has a broad background in motor racing, first starting out in karting back in 2005, then moving up to single-seaters in 2007, competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 series and International Formula Master series. Pal then went onto compete in GP3 in 2010, finishing 13th in the standings, and then moved up to GP2 in 2011, racing for DAMS. However, after a successful Asia Series, Pal lost his seat at DAMS, where he then moved into Auto GP, where he came runner up with the Virtuosi UK team this year.
Facu Regalia, an Argentine racing driver, has primarily based his driving career in Spain, again starting out in karting. In 2008, Facu joined the Formula BMW series where he stayed for three seasons, before making the move into Italian Formula 3, where he finished 10th in the championship. This year Facu has taken part in the European F3 Championship, as well as Auto GP and GP3 in the fourth round at Silverstone.
Paul Jackson – Team Principal
“It is always interesting when you have new drivers in the team, to see how they work with the engineers and how you can help them develop, so this test will let us see how these two young drivers shape up against Jolyon. Pal has previous GP2 experience, so we expect him to be comfortable quite early, while Facu will be new to GP2 and will take a little more time to get settled.
We look forward to a productive test.”
