Christian Fittipaldi looks forward to Superstars comeback at Pergusa

Brazilian driver back at Pergusa after 1991 Formula 3000 run

Superstars - Christian FittipaldiSuperstars logoAfter having made his Superstars debut at Imola, Christian Fittipaldi will be back on-track next weekend at Pergusa. The Brazilian former F.1 racer will rejoin Swiss Team aboard a Maserati Quattroporte in a spectacular challenge to the top driver in the series. It won’t be a new experience for him as he already met with the fast Sicilian track while running in the 1991 Formula 3000 championship aboard a Mugen-powered Reynard.

Last time, he was forced to retire and he’s now looking forward to get his revenge. He will be facing some top-notch names like Tonio Liuzzi (Mercedes), currently fighting for the championship with leader Johan Kristoffersson (Audi) and Thomas Biagi (BMW).

As he’s getting ready for the SUPERSTARS battle, Christian answered some questions about his championship experience so far.

What’s been your first impression of this championship?”It’s impressive to see how quickly this series has grown up so strong. There’s a lot of work in terms of promotion, organization and media, and it’s all carried-on straight-headed, with the same goal in mind. The results are definitely positive judging from the great names in the roster and the many car brands competing. The races are exciting and while there are a lot of different cars, they are pretty balanced and if one has the edge on straights, the others can catch up in the corners…”

Did you enjoy the SUPERSTARS environment?”The races are really spectacular and unpredictable, but probably the most impressive thing is the crowd that comes to support you lap after lap. I met with many many fans in the paddock at Imola and I hope to receive the same amount of support at Pergusa. I warmly invite all the fans to join us on-track – their participation will be key in putting together an unforgettable weekend. I can’t wait to be on-track”.

What’s your goal for Pergusa?”I already raced at Pergusa. It reminds a little Hockenheim in its full configuration. I’m confident on the performance level of the Quattroporte and hope it will be even more competitive this weekend with the improvements done during the season. I ended up the two races in 4th and 5th, so I hope to be fighting for a podium finish.”
