ALMS - Dyson Racing  - Guy SmithALMSDyson Racing ended up quickest on the first day of testing for the 15th annual Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda on Sunday with the No. 20 Lola-Mazda turning a lap of 1:12.742 (125.742 mph). The car – which will be driven by Tony Burgess, Mark Patterson and Chris McMurry in Saturday’s race at Road Atlanta – led a group of four cars within 0.689 seconds of each other. Newey wins race, 2012 Championship to Koykka

Newey won the race but Koykka took the 2012 title.

F1600 F Championship logoBrandon Newey won the race, but Matias Koykka brought home enough points to edge the American and take the 2012 F1600 Formula F Championship Series title with a strong effort to close the season from pole at Watkins Glen International. Newey edged Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb/Agajanian teammate Adrian Starrantino to the victory ahead of the two Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing Spectrum/Hondas. La Rocca Puts Stamp on Season with Sweep at the Glen

F2000 Championship Series logoAfter momentarily getting shuffled back to fourth on an exciting opening lap, 2012 F2000 Champion Robert La Rocca picked off two cars on lap one and then passed Rob Nicholas for the lead on the next lap to open up a huge gap en route to a record-breaking 11th win of the season for HP-Tech Motorsport. It was the fourth weekend sweep of the year for the Venezuelan in the season finale doubleheader at Watkins Glen International, winning ahead of Wyatt Gooden and Nicholas. F2000 Championship Series logoIn 14 qualifying rounds now complete for the 2012 F2000 Championship Series season, Robert La Rocca, the 2012 Champion, has put his No. 10 HP-Tech Van Diemen on pole 12 times. In the final qualifying round of the year at Watkins Glen International, a shortened session left a seven-minute shootout for drivers to run their fastest laps of the weekend, producing another La Rocca pole ahead of Wyatt Gooden and Rob Nicholas.
