Emotions and excitement were at the heart of the weekend for the Season Finale of Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) presented by Continental Tire.

Sasha Anis, Damon Sharpe and Nick Wittmer crowned 2012 Champions

2012-09-02_04152012-09-01 - SamediGoing into this weekend, the probability of winning the Touring Class title by either Team Octane driver Michel Sallenbach or Blanchet Motorsports driver Damon Sharpe was fifty percent while Super Class and B-Spec Class leaders Sasha Anis from G1 Racing and Nick Wittmer with Ste-Rose Honda Racing were technically invincible.

Barracuda Racing pitted on lap 16 as rainclouds rolled in and precipitation became consistent. The radar showed a clearing only 11 laps later, so the team made another pit stop to switch back to slicks. A final pit-stop on lap 57 completed the team’s three-stop strategy. Intrepid North America Canadian Nationals report

Liverant’s best result of the weekend came in the National final.

2012-08-2612-08-25_0387Intrepid North America wrapped up the biggest event in Canadian karting a week ago as a fourteen member squad contested the National Karting Championships in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. After a season-long Eastern Canadian schedule, a majority of the team were at the Jim Russell Karting Academy from Wednesday through Sunday in completing the National schedule for 2012.
