PSL Karting, Coupe de Quebec, Grand-Mere race report

Alex Somma AMGphotoKarting Grand-Mère logoTeam PSL Karting wrapped up its Quebec Championship schedule a week ago as twelve team drivers produced six podiums and three wins at Grand-Mere. The event brought to a close the first year of the revamped Coupe de Quebec, and also the first year of racing for PSL Montreal. One of its drivers was among the race winners, Alex Somma in Rotax Micro-Max, and team leader LP Gelinas was once again left standing proud of his young recruits.

Wickens holds series lead after frustrations in France

World Series by Renault logoRobert Wickens endured a turbulent penultimate round of the 2011 Formula Renault 3.5 Series at Circuit Paul Ricard this weekend. The Canadian left France recording his ninth podium of the season, courtesy of second place in Saturday’s race, but was dealt a blow in Sunday’s event, eventually finishing 19th and scoreless thanks to a puncture following contact by Spain’s Sergio Canamasas battling in the top-five.

Heidfeld still pushing for F1 seat in 2012

Nick Heidfeld on Sunday insisted he is still pushing to stay in formula one, even though he is being strongly linked with a move to DTM.
