Todt beats Vatanen to FIA presidency

Jean Todt has been elected to be the new president of F1’s governing body, the FIA.

At a five-star hotel near the Federation’s Paris headquarters, the worldwide membership gathered and almost 70 per cent of the votes were cast in favour of the 63-year-old Frenchman winning a four-year term to replace the incumbent Max Mosley. Read the rest of this entry »

Portimao: Rea goes quickest (+result)

Spies faster than Haga in Q1 at Portimao

Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) set the quickest time in today’s opening qualifying session at the Portimao circuit in Portugal. The Northern Ireland youngster grabbed the provisional pole from Jakub Smrz in the final stages of the session, with a time of 1 minute 43.786 seconds, eight-hundredths faster than the Guandalini Ducati man.  Read the rest of this entry »

Sixth pole position for Champion Jules Bianchi

The qualifying session took place under difficult conditions

Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix, 1:48.890 minutes) secured himself the last fastest lap time in a qualifying of the current Formula 3 Euro Series season.
